Gorica was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1975. She was raised in the lower Westchester area. She graduated with a Bachelors degree with a focus in marketing and advertising. Gorica grew-up in real estate, her entire family was involved in real estate in one way or another. At one time, her father had over 400 apartments in the New York area. Since the age of eight years old after school she would help work in the office. She understood fully what it entailed to manage real estate. It did not seem alluring enough, so she did not believe she would want to be in the family business.
She believed one day she would own an advertising company.
Education was important to Gorica, but work and making money was just a bit more important. She was in school while working for Gymboree Inc., where she managed her own web site. It was here that Gorica was informed by one of the parents of an opportunity where she could make the most of her talents. This woman worked for National Cable Communications, an advertising company in Manhattan. Gorica believed this was an opportunity knocking, so she took one year off of school and left her self-rewarding job at Gymboree.
At National Cable Communications, Gorica saw many opportunities for meeting important and powerful people in the industry. She knew she could be one of the best employees working at this company. To prove to her employers that she was dedicated to be the best, she worked many over time hours, and it earned her great recognition. They called her their “Secret Weapon.” She was offered to work and learn what other departments in the company did. Here was another opportunity for her. She quickly learned the foundation of the company. When it was time for her to get promoted, she learned that she could not be an account executive until she earned her bachelor’s degree. She decided to leave NCC and finish school as quickly as she could before anyone could forget her. Today she is still remembered at this company.
Gorica went to Iona College, in 1998 and she was determined to finish school as fast as she could. She had to convince the Dean of Iona all four semesters, to allow her to sign up for 23 credits each semester. During the first couple of months of school, she still had to go back to NCC until the new assistant was fully trained. Her multi-tasking skills came into good use. She became an expert in scheduling her classes and she is very proud of that. Not one extra dollar of tuition money was spent on a class she could not use as credit towards her degree. She graduated in May of 2000 Cum Laude with a grade point average of 3.8. She also finished a four year Bachelors degree in three years. Upon graduating she was offered a new job working for Time Warner ads division in NYC, for the start of September.
That summer her father, David Mladen asked her to come to Holyoke Massachusetts to see and learn about the family business that was now in New England, Goran’s Investors INC. She stayed that summer and surprisingly she did not want to leave. She enjoyed working closely with tenants and employees. She felt this job was rewarding and meant more to her than just making money. She was in a position to help people and learn about all their different backgrounds. A few months before Gorica got to Massachusetts her family just purchased the three hundred apartments. They were lower income apartments that needed a lot of work. There were many problems that arose, such as gang activity, drugs, people not paying the rent, and not to mention staff difficulties. Her family is known for acquiring properties in these situations, and building them up and changing there reputation for the better. Her family acquires many apartments at one time in close proximities so that they have control of their neighborhood. It is something that Gorica believes is the only way to be able to be successful at “cleaning up” the buildings. Gorica enjoys challenges, and Holyoke was one of the biggest challenges she’s had to face. Gorica along with the help of two field managers and three other employees were able to “clean-up” the buildings. She had tenants, employees, social workers, and police departments all work together as a team. They were a small team who accomplished plenty within just one year. When Gorica started working in Holyoke it was not safe. Within months going to work was safe and pleasant. This motivated Gorica to stay and learn more about the business. Goran’s Investors was recognized by the mayor of Holyoke at that time, 2003.
After selling the property for a large profit, Gorica worked for White Knight Management, now known as Eternal Enterprise Inc. This office is managed by Vera Mladen, who is a great office manager. At this time, Gorica worked closely with her mother in the day to day operations. Gorica was responsible for searching for new prospective properties. This was new and exciting for Gorica. She enjoyed the traveling and learning about different areas of the country.
In July of 2004 Gorica and her husband Fedele Adduci had their son Leonardo. She did not take much time off. Gorica enjoys to work and being a caring mother. Once again, she is using her good time management skills and multi-tasking skills.
After all of her experiences, she was chosen by David Mladen to be the next CEO of Excellency Investment Realty Trust. David believes she is primed and ready to take the company to the next level. Gorica is looking forward to the challenges ahead of her.
When Gorica does get a break, she likes to educate herself on natural medicines and homeopathic medicine. She believes if she understands how to stay healthy and keep her family healthy, she can be a better overall person. She loves to spend time with her family and go on vacations with them every chance they get.
